Christie Calihoo

Christie has been practicing family law since 2008 when she was called to the Alberta Bar. She
has a background in sociology and indigenous studies.
She has appeared in all levels of court in Alberta, including Court of Justice, Court of King’s
Bench and the Court of Appeal.

Christie is passionate about ensuring children’s rights are protected. As a well known children’s
advocate, she is often requested by the Court to act for children to ensure the court hears the
views of the children.

When representing parents, Christie works with parents to keep them focused on what is the
best for the children -- not just when completing a parenting plan but working with parents to
develop positive communication skills.
